Please join us in welcoming Connie Gallippi to FHBP as our new lead consultant for the Green Vision and other FHBP projects. Connie will continue the role held for many years by Melanie Schlotterbeck, who will be applying her exceptional skills in conservation at the state level. Connie is eminently qualified to accept the handoff from Melanie and is already making an impact in our programs.
Connie holds a bachelor’s degree in Natural Resource Management from Virginia Polytechnic Institute. She has broad experience in non-profit work, both locally and globally, and has worked extensively on state conservation issues with such groups as the California Urban Forests Council and the Conservation Strategy Group. Connie joins FHBP at a time when many legislative and agency policy issues are creating challenges to conservation efforts. Matters such as defending our bedrock environmental law, CEQA, and ensuring thoughtful responses to the changing housing landscape require a deep understanding of complex policy processes at the state and local level. Connie is experienced in these issues and well prepared to guide FHBP in navigating these challenges.
Among her many skills, Connie has crafted conservation legislation, worked with coalitions, secured state and private funding for conservation programs, and influenced policy. Perhaps most importantly, Connie shares our unceasing commitment to the outdoors and our amazing natural resources. We have been impressed with Connie’s enthusiasm and quick grasp of our programs. She brings a fresh perspective while also respecting and building upon the long tradition of conservation work FHBP is so well known for.
Connie has been working to get to know the extended FHBP family as well. We’re sure you’ll be as enthused as we are about continuing these exciting and critical conservation programs once you get a chance to meet Connie and share your roles and perspectives.
