Friends of Harbors, Beaches and Parks (FHBP) wanted to confirm the public knew that the 2018 OC Parks Strategic Plan has been released for public review. The Plan is available for download on the OC Parks website.
As you know back in 2007, OC Parks developed its first Strategic Plan. Since it has been more than a decade, it is time to review and update the organizational mission and vision, strategic goals, and desired outcomes for the agency.
Please note: the OC Parks website states comments are due this Friday, June 15th to OCParksSP@ocparks.com. Unfortunately, due to an oversight many of the stakeholders (FHBP included) were not notified of its release. To further complicate matters, OC Parks has been facing many wildfires in the recent weeks and their focus remained on those emergency items–as it should be.
Before your panic sets in, Stacy Blackwood, OC Parks Director, has assured FHBP that they will extend the deadline for comment. When an exact date is known, we will let you know.
In the meantime, start your review and begin preparing your comments.
