The naturally occurring moon wobble will exacerbate already rising sea levels. In a study by National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA) along with the University of Hawaii, this event occurs every 18.6 years and causes higher high tides and lower low tides. The National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration recorded 600 flood events in 2019. It is expected to be 3-4 times that with the moon wobble plus the climate crisis by the mid-2030s.
