Orange County’s own Huntington Beach has willfully violated state law by not ensuring its housing plan was in compliance with state law says a press release from the Governor’s office today. Governor Newsom relayed that cities must comply with the law and build affordable units. This is the first lawsuit of its kind—and the decision didn’t come lightly, but the City refused the state’s offers of help and its proposed amendment to the housing plan.
