E-bikers are about to launch an attempt to gain legal access to the unpaved wilderness trails in OC Parks. At a meeting of the OC Parks Trails Subcommittee on April 10, a proposal will be made to study the potential impact of Class 1 e-bikes on the parks, with a view to legalizing their use.
E-bikers and their supporters—the shops that sell the bikes—are very good at turning out people for things like this. We must not allow them to be the only voices in the room!
We are asking you to show up at this meeting to demonstrate your opposition to the proposed study and any subsequent legalization of e-bikes on our wilderness trails. And, if you cannot attend in person, we urge you send a message to the Trails Subcommittee expressing your opposition.
We hope to see you on Thursday, April 10 at 5:40 pm at the headquarters of OC Parks, 13042 Old Myford Rd, Irvine. We’ll provide you with additional information and parking directions as soon as you register.
Cordially,
