Friends of Harbors, Beaches & Parks (FHBP) has been engaged on this issue for years to ensure that the Least Tern and Western Snowy Plover have a chance at survival. Right now, off-leash dogs are threatening the very survival of the birds–in their only habitat area no less. The Coastal Commission will make a decision tomorrow about next steps, which include possible signage and enforcement actions. Stay tuned.
