The Trust for Public Land received an $8 million grant for its acquisition of the Banning Ranch property in Newport Beach and adjacent to the Santa Ana River. Specifically funding comes from the Proposition 1 Watershed Restoration Grant program, which aims to “establish more reliable water supplies; restore species and habitats; and create more resilient, sustainably managed water systems.”
