Through the use of technology and people power these Georgia residents are mapping the urban heat island around Atlanta. The map is scientifically showing that economically disadvantaged communities not only have a wealth disparity, but also must tolerate hotter temperatures. This can be resolved through urban greening programs which reduce temperatures, provide shade, and beautify a neighborhood.
