OpEd on SB 9 & 10

Friends of Harbors, Beaches & Parks (FHBP) Board member Jack Eidt penned this thoughtful Op Ed for the Voice of OC about two bills being considered in the State Legislature that remove local control, don’t commit to actual affordable housing, and will fundamentally change the character of our communities.
In short, “SB 9 allows four market-rate homes where one now stands, and six units when developers and investors add a “granny flat” in the backyard. SB 10 would allow a city council to override zoning and environmental impacts, to allow 10-unit projects with four granny flats, with again no commitment to affordability.”
