One good outcome of the “Great Pause” from the pandemic is that animals killed via vehicle collisions dropped 34% because people were driving less. Birds sang louder. Whales enjoyed quieter oceans. The list goes on. Now, due to a study from Biological Conservation the federal government is stepping up efforts to create safer passages for wildlife and it anticipated they will dedicate funding to the tune of roughly $350 million to improve connectivity. While we as humans may have struggled with COVID, the animals got a welcomed break!
