It is deeply disturbing to see the loss of 3,000 tern eggs due to human causes. A drone flown illegally over the tern nesting island crashed, scaring away the soon-to-be parents. These birds are also threatened by off-leash dogs that flush them off the land causing them to abandon their nests. As a visitor to public lands it is your responsibility to know the rules. Check the signs, visit the website, get informed. We must do better or the Earth will not survive our assaults.
