In November 2016, conservation groups and agencies signed a settlement agreement with the Transportation Corridor Agencies permanently protecting a world class surfing destination called Trestles.  In July 2017, the City of San Clemente and the Reserve Maintenance Corporation filed lawsuits challenging the agreement.
